Strengthening government schools, and giving their students the exposure to STEM, AI and career pathways that their private-school peers take for granted.
THE NEED — CURRENT DATA
Share of schools with a functional computer; only 63.5% have internet.
UDISE+ 2024-25, Ministry of EducationGross enrolment falls this far between secondary and higher secondary.
UDISE+ 2024-25, Ministry of EducationWhy it matters
More than one school in three still has no working computer. Only 23.4% of Std III children can read a Std II text (ASER 2024). And at Class 10 a student chooses a stream that shapes their working life, usually with no information beyond Science, Commerce and Arts — which is where the enrolment collapse between secondary and higher secondary begins.
